Backtest Any Trading Strategy With Claude (No Code Needed)
You’ve probably never backtested the strategy you trade. Not properly, not on ten years of data — and it was never laziness. Every route asked you to learn Pine Script, learn Python, or pay for a platform that still makes you code.
That step is gone. In this video I test a complete trading strategy by describing it in plain English, and Claude writes every line of the code.
Then the part almost nobody does: I attack my own result — because my first backtest came back beautiful, and it was completely fake.
(Every result here is a historical simulation on past data, not live-money trading. Nothing in this video connects to a broker.)
The full no-code workflow, start to finish: four prompts that write the strategy spec, catch the four decisions the AI quietly makes on your behalf, run a costs-included version against a fantasy no-costs version, check whether simple buy-and-hold would have beaten it anyway. Every result renders as a self-contained HTML report you can open offline.
Total setup: one app, about three minutes. Honest note on cost — Claude Code requires a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, or API billing); the free Claude account does not include it. Everything else here is free: the market data, the method, and all four prompts. No trading platform subscription, no backtesting service, no Pine Script, no broker connection.
